What is a Brow Lift?
With a long history dating back to 1910, brow lifts strategically reposition a heavy brow, intentionally weakening specific muscles. This surgical option removes the need for neuromodulators like Botox.
At Thrive, we guide patients through a comprehensive exploration of non-surgical and surgically available brow lift options, making sure to correctly match the issue with the best form of treatment.
Why Choose a Brow Lift at Thrive Medical Spa?
Dr. Zubowicz, our double board-certified plastic surgeon, performs all brow lifts at Thrive Medical Spa. With more than 30 years of experience, he’s conducted a wide array of brow lifts, although demand has decreased with the introduction of neuromodulators. Most brow lifts take place in an ambulatory surgery center. At Thrive, more minor brow lifts are performed in our specialized procedure room, avoiding the need for general anesthesia.
Worried about pain or anxiety? We’ve got you covered! Thrive offers Pro-Nox™, a pain and stress management solution available to all of our surgical suite patients.

The Brow Lift Procedure
At Thrive, brow lifts typically involve general anesthesia. Patients adhere to standard preoperative preparations, such as not eating after midnight. However, office procedures require minimal preparation. We prefer patients to thoroughly shampoo the night before.
Brow lift techniques vary based on patient anatomy and desired outcomes. The coronal brow lift, utilizing a long incision hidden in the hair, offers extensive lifting with the drawbacks of a slightly elevated hairline and temporary scalp numbness. The endoscopic brow lift, performed through small incisions, is suitable for disabling expression lines and minimizing scalp numbness. Hair advancement and lateral subcutaneous brow lifts address specific concerns, each with specific advantages and considerations.
Most procedures, regardless of type, are efficiently completed within an hour.
Your Recovery and Results
Patients can resume normal activities immediately after the brow lift procedure, engaging in non-strenuous tasks until the first office visit within a week. Athletic activities may begin again at that point, provided the scalp is protected. Post-operatively, patients are responsible for safeguarding the surgical site and maintaining hair and incision cleanliness. Pain is usually minimal, often like a headache, and manageable without the need for narcotics. The results of the brow lift last a lifetime.
