Gynecomastia

Are you tired of feeling self-conscious about “man boobs” and longing for a more masculine chest? Our gynecomastia procedure is your ticket to regaining the confidence you deserve. Performed by our esteemed surgeon, Dr. Vincent Zubowicz, you’ll be amazed at the results.

What is Gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia (breast tissue in males) can develop at any age, posing no health risks but causing embarrassment. It’s clinically graded by breast tissue (variable combination of glandular tissue and fat) and skin ptosis. Liposuction can remove fat, but glandular tissue requires surgical removal.

Any healthy male seeking a more streamlined body shape is a suitable candidate. If there’s no pain or discomfort, there’s no medical reason for the procedure. Gynecomastia surgery has been practiced for centuries, with an increasing demand in recent years.

The Gynecomastia Procedure

In all cases, chest liposuction is executed, even if glandular tissue is the primary concern, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing result.

If the Gynecomastia is primarily fat, liposuction alone may suffice. When glandular tissue remains, a small incision is made around a portion of the areola’s edge to access and remove the tissue.

Most procedures are conveniently performed in our office using oral sedation and tumescent anesthesia, with minimal preparation, such as arranging a ride home. The procedure is conducted in an outpatient surgery center, following standard preoperative protocols in cases requiring general anesthesia.

The operation typically spans 1 to 2 hours, with more severe cases necessitating additional time for chest skin reconstruction and areola repositioning.

Your Recovery and Results

Patients who undergo liposuction experience minimal activity restrictions, primarily avoiding painful movements. In contrast, those undergoing glandular tissue excision are advised complete chest rest until the one-week follow-up office visit. Non-athletic daily activities can be resumed immediately, allowing for a swift return to regular routines post-procedure.

Patients are advised to wear a compressive garment for several weeks following the operation to reduce swelling and ensure comfort. This garment plays a crucial role in promoting optimal results. Patients can resume showering as soon as the day after the procedure, allowing for a swift return to regular hygiene routines.

Most patients report only mild soreness, which can be easily managed with over-the-counter pain medication. In relatively rare cases, a mild narcotic may be prescribed to individuals with low pain tolerance.

Once the gynecomastia procedure is complete, patients can enjoy the confidence and satisfaction of their transformed chest.
