Sculptra

Thrive Medical Spa specializes in enhancing natural beauty through treatments like Sculptra, a filler to restore facial volume loss and improve skin texture over time for a more youthful appearance. Sculptra treatment activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra from Galderma is an FDA-approved injectable dermal filler primarily composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, gradually restoring facial volume and improving skin texture over time. Sculptra is commonly used to address facial wrinkles and hollow areas, providing subtle, natural-looking, and long-lasting results

Sculptra was first introduced in Europe in the early 2000s under the name New-Fill. It gained FDA approval in the US in 2004. Originally developed to treat lipoatrophy, a condition characterized by fat loss in the face, Sculptra began to be used as a cosmetic filler. Today, it is a trusted option for patients seeking facial volume and contour.

The Sculptra Procedure

Leading up to the treatment, patients should avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin and ibuprofen, as well as vitamin E and fish oil, all to reduce the risk of bruising. Patients should refrain from smoking and alcohol consumption to promote healing.

It’s best for the patient to arrive with clean, makeup-free skin to allow for proper assessment and preparation of the treatment area. Our staff cleanses the skin and might apply a topical numbing cream for greater comfort during the procedure. Once the skin is ready, the Sculptra injections are administered using fine needles to target specific areas, adjusting quantity and placement as needed for best results.

Your Recovery and Results

After a Sculptra treatment, patients can typically resume daily activities right away. Post treatment, your Thrive injector will ask you to massage the area for five days. Using moderate pressure, patients will massage the treated areas in a circular motion for five minutes a day, five times a day, for five consecutive days. The massage is an important step in integrating the Sculptra product into your tissue for best long-term outcome and results!

Immediately following the procedure, patients notice improvements in facial volume, although it’s important to note Sculptra works gradually over time. As collagen production increases, patients observe progressive enhancement of skin texture and firmness. Sculptra treatments can last up to two years or more, depending on individual factors like age, skin condition, and lifestyle. With sessions and maintenance, patients can enjoy sustained improvements in facial contour and overall appearance. We may recommend regular touch-up treatments to maintain results and address any ongoing issues.

Sculptra Frequently Asked Questions

Is Sculptra a filler?
Yes, Sculptra is a unique type of filler that works by stimulating your body’s own collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers, it gradually restores volume over time, resulting in a natural and long-lasting appearance. It’s ideal for those seeking a subtle yet effective facial rejuvenation.
How long does Sculptra filler last?
Sculptra can last up to two years or longer, depending on individual factors such as skin type and age. Its results appear gradually, as collagen production is stimulated over the months following treatment. Periodic touch-ups can maintain and enhance the results.
How much does Sculptra filler cost?
The cost of Sculptra varies depending on the number of syringes needed and the treatment area(s). Typically, prices are $900 per syringe, and most clients require multiple syringes for optimal results. Consultation at Thrive Medical Spa will provide a personalized treatment plan and pricing.
Is Sculptra a dermal filler?
Yes, Sculptra is considered a dermal filler, but it differs from other fillers by focusing on stimulating collagen growth rather than providing immediate volume. This makes it a great option for those looking for gradual, long-term results. It is ideal for addressing volume loss with the affects lasting up to two years.
Can I get Sculptra after filler?
Yes, you can receive Sculptra after traditional fillers. Sculptra works well alongside other fillers by providing long-term volumizing effects, while other fillers may offer more immediate results. Your provider at Thrive Medical Spa will create a customized plan to suit your needs.
Can you do Sculptra and filler?
Yes, Sculptra can be combined with other fillers to maximize both immediate and gradual facial rejuvenation. This combination allows you to address different aspects of facial aging, such as volume loss and fine lines, with a more comprehensive approach.
Can you get Sculptra and filler at the same time?
Yes, you can receive Sculptra and traditional dermal fillers in the same session. The combination allows for immediate enhancement from the fillers, while Sculptra gradually improves volume by stimulating collagen production over time.

”I went to thrive about a month ago and I am OBSESSED with my results! I saw Sarah and she was amazing. She knows everything and more about facial anatomy and making everything symmetrical.
